Description
Abbasid Caliphate: temp. al-Mansur, AH 136-158 / AD 754-775, AE fals, Badghis mint (near Herat), ND, reverse margin: "mimma amr behi 'Ammar bin Zuhair 'amil al-amir Hamid akramahu Allah", Mint-name in two lines with a star between, A-E319, (2.18gm, 19mm), Extremely Rare.
The ruler name " 'amar " is clearly written but mentioned as " 'Ayyar ". During the Mansur Caliphate, local rulers served as assistants to Muhammad (al-Mahdi) as governor of the east. also the inscription used for Hamid ; was actually used for Muhammad on Mansur's coins. So it is possible that the inscription of Hamid’s name is an engraver’s mistake and the name Muhammad is correct.
