ROMAN EMPIRE, Gordian III, 238-244 AD. AR Heavy Antoninianus (6.35 gm; 22 mm). Rome, 241-243 AD. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust to right, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P V COS II P P, Apollo, bare to waist, seated left, holding branch and resting left elbow on lyre. RIC 89; RSC 261. Sharply struck on a broad medallic flan. Choice Superb. Lightly toned. Lustrous.
