Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, Gyselen type 21. Æ (4.38 gm; 24 mm). Obverse, Sasanian style bust facing forward and raised arms pointing to heavens, phrase on the left, "bil-Ezzat Allah" in Arabic, phrase to the right in Pahlavi: "Ustantarn" (Ostandar-meaning governor in Persian), reverse, Shahadah, Obverse type in Gyselen type 21. However the reverse is not in Gyselen, thus extremely rare. Well struck on a broad flan. Choice VF. Nice original find patina. Extremely rare.
