Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, Farroxzad i-Gushn-anoshan, (Tastar) mint. Æ (4.02 gm; 25 mm). Obverse, Khosrau II style bust turning right, name in Pahlavi in two lines in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants, mint "T(a)sTR" (Tastar) present day Shushtar or a region very near present day Basra. Shushtar was founded by Yazdgird I, Jewish Queen Shushana thus the name Shushtar. Gyselen Type 53. Struck on a nice broad flan. Reddish patina. Choice VF / EF. Rare.
