Description
PERSIA Safavid to Qajar, 17 to 20 Century. Agate Seal (0.83 gm; 15 mm; 13 mm). A poem attributed to Shah Ismail II or Shah Tahmasp of Safavid dynasty stating “ gar az mashriq taa maqrib imam ast, Ali va aal-e ou mara tamam ast” meaning that we consider the best reward when Ali is recognized as the leader of the faith and Imam from east to west. Superb Nasta’liq calligraphy. A true gem and a museum quality piece. Excellent condition.
