Description
ROMAN EMPIRE, Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 141. Æ Sestertius (24.40 gm; 32 mm). Rome mint, struck under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 146-161 AD. Draped bust right, wearing pearls bound on top of her head / [AETERNITAS], S C in exergue, Faustina seated left in carpentum drawn left by two elephants, which are ridden and led by mahouts. BMCRE 1569; Cohen 57; RIC Antoninus Pius 1113. Reddish patina. Choice VF. Rare.
