Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, or Late SASANIAN. Æ (0.42 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, crowned figure turning right, the Sasanian formula of "GDH" in front of face, phrase in Pahlavi starting at 5 o'clock, clockwise starting with possible phrase "saal"(meaning year in Pahlavi) followed by not legible phrase. reverse, 7 steps on a support (Fire altar?) and phrases in Pahlavi in right and left which are not legible. Small crack, otherwise well struck. Choice EF. Original find patina. First one we have seen, most likely unpublished. Extremely rare.
