ROMAN EMPIRE, Gordian III. 238-244 AD. AR Antoninianus (4.55 gm; 23 mm). Rome, 240 AD. minted on the occasion of his third congiarium. Obv: Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG / Rev: Liberalitas standing left, holding abacus and scepter LIBERALITAS AVG III. RIC 67; RSC 12. Sharply struck on a nice broad medallic flan. Choice AU. Lightly toned.
