SASANIAN KINGS, Bahram (Varhran) II and family. 276-293 AD. AR Drachm (4.35 gm; 26 mm). Jugate busts of Bahram, wearing winged crown with korymbos, and his queen, wearing kolah with boar’s head, right, vis-a-vis bust of Prince 4, wearing kolah with eagle’s head, reverse, fire altar with attendants, with symbol “Faravahar” on the left of flame. SNS type VI/1 var.; Gobl type VII/2a; Sunrise 786var. Sharply struck on a nice full flan. Choice AU. Lightly toned with some luster.
