SASANIAN KINGS; Shapur I, 240-270 AD. AR Drachm (3.98 gm; 27 mm). Bust right, wearing diadem and mural crown with korymbos decorated with pellets surrounded by ring of pellets, / Fire altar; flanked by two attendants wearing crowns. SNS type IIc/1a, style G; Göbl type I/1; Paruck -; Saeedi -; Sunrise 737. Minor marks, otherwise well struck. Most likely struck in a provincial mint given the style of obverse. Choice aEF. Rare.
