ISLAMIC DYNASTIES, Artuqids of Hisn Kayfa and Amid. Nasir al-Din Mahmud. AH 597-619/AD 1200-1222. Æ Dirham (13.85 gm; 30 mm). Sinjir mint, dated AH 606 or 607 AH. Double-headed eagle displayed on ornamental base, with human heads on the wings; mint name and AH date in right and left fields; name an title of Nasir in outer legend / Name and pedigree of Seljuq of Rum overlord Izz al-Din Kay Ka’us in four lines across fields; name and title of Abbasid Caliph al-Nasir in external voids. S&S Type 16. Well struck on a nice full flan. Well centered. Brown patina. Choice Good VF. Very nice example for this issue. Comes from an old collection with the original old tag.
