HUNIC TRIBES, Imitation of Bahram (Varhran IV). AD. 388-399. AR Drachm (4.00 gm; 30 mm). Possible Merw mint or local imitation. Bust of Varhran IV right wearing winged merlon crown / Fire altar with bust of Ahura Mazda emerging from flames, flanked by two attendants, text in place of ribbons of fire altar, right text is not legible, the text to the left seems to be the imitation of standard phrase "RAAST" (Truthfulness). SNS type Ic/2; Göbl type I/1; cf. Göbl, Dok. Em. 30 (Kidarite); MAC 1321-234 (same). , 3h. Well struck on a broad flan. Choice VF. Lightly toned. Extremely rare with texts on the reverse at fire altar.
