Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, Hajjaj ibn Yusuf (?). AH 75-95 (694-713 AD.) Æ (2.20 gm; 22mm x 16mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust turning right, phrase (first line) “pylw(c)” second line not legible possible "hc(a)cywsp(a)n - Hajjaj -e Yusufan on the right side, GDH and xvarrah/abzud on the left behind the crown, reverse a moving forward horse with 2 line phrase, "pylwc" followed by "apad". Most likely unpublished variety of Gyselen Type 62. Well struck on a nice full flan. Brown patina. Choice EF. Rare.
