Description
BUWAYHID, Imad al-Din Abu Kalinjar. mint: Suq al-Ahwaz. AR Multiple (four) Dirhem (15.75 gm; 31 mm). Obverse, Shahadah followed by the name of the Abbasid Khalif al-Qadir be-Amrallah, second ring with name "Abu Kalinjar" at 12 o'clock, al-Qadir (Abbasid Khalif) at 9 o'clock, Khalifah (Khalif) at 6 o'clock and badly deteriorated phrase al-Salam(?) at 3 o'clock. Reverse, Lillah/Shahadah for Prophet Mohammad/Shah'n shah(Sasanian title for King of Kings) al-Moazzam /'Imad din Allah wa ghiyath 'ibad Allah, mint: Suq al-Ahwaz, year not legible, Album 1584; Treadwell-Su43x. Also see Album Auction 43 lot 487. Small area of lamination on reverse field, otherwise well struck on a nice broad flan. Choice VF. Lightly toned. Extremely rare.
