SASANIAN KINGS. Yazdgird I. AD. 399-420. AR Drachm (4.21 gm; 25 mm). HLYDY (Herat) mint. Bust right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; monograms on altar shaft. SNS type Ia2/1a (pl. 51, A30); Göbl type I/1 (pl. 9, 146); Paruck -; Saeedi -; Sunrise 900. Lovely strike on a nice flan. Choice Superb EF. Lightly toned. Lustrous. Rare.
