Description
ABBASID CALIPHS, Talha ibn Ali (Prince regent), Sabur (Bishapur). Æ (2.70 gm; 20 mm), Talha ibn Ali (prince regent) later on under then name al-Mowaffaq billah and brother of Khalif al-Mu'tamid. Obverse: Shahadah / fi(l) Velayat-e Amir Talha ibn Ali (Awfa?), reverse, al- Amir Musa ibn Amir al-Mo'menin hfzat-Allah, around the center, Bismillah Zarbi Sabur (Bishapur), date not legible or not on the coin. Well struck on a full flan. Choice EF. Red patina. The sources to exactly identify Talha as well as Musa are extremely scarce as many of the Abbasid princes had several names. Rare.
