Description
Cylinder Seal of Black Stone: 27 x 15 mm. The design shows the upper parts of a goddess--head, breasts, arms and wings--above a mountain with two trees on its sides, a mountain goat in front of it, another such goat and an inverted lion forming a kind of terminal, with a few small filling cuts around. This comes from central Iran and dates to c. 2500 2100 B.C. It is a little worn, but the design remains clear.
