KINGS of PERSIS. Ardaxsir (Artaxerxes I). 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.82 gm; 26 mm). Diademed head of Ardaxsir right, with beard and long moustache, wearing kyrbasia / Persic legend Ardaxsir, governor of god, fire temple of Ahura-Mazda; to left, Ardaxsir standing right, hands raised; to right, flag standard (Latin vexillum) decorated with X, dots in angles. Sunrise 562; Alram 520; Cf. Klose & Müseler 2/9 (legend). Sharply struck on an excellent metal. Choice Superb EF. Very Rare.
