ROMAN EMPIRE, Gordian III. 238-244 AD. Æ Sestertius (19.34 gm; 30 mm). Rome, 241-243 AD. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. LAETITIA AVG N / S - C Laetitia standing front, head to left, holding wreath in her right hand and anchor in her left. RIC IV 300a; Banti 38. Ex. CNG 87, (18 May 2011), Lot 1069; Cohen 122; Michaux 189. Light smoothing on the field. Sharply struck on a nice full flan. Choice Good EF. Brown patina.
