ARAB-SASANIAN, Apzut series. Gyselen Type 52. Æ Fals (3.68 gm; 22 mm). Obverse, Sasanian style bust turning right, with illegible legend in front of the face, GDH and Apzut behind the head, reverse, fire altar with phrase (per Gyselen "hbr") or possibly "ar(a)b" as people of Arabia, as the term was used in various format since the 4th century AD, phrase on the left "APShTAN" (meaning support), the total phrase combined might be referring to "Arab Support" which in the context of the conquest of Sasanid Persia makes sense. Gyselen Type 52 -unidentified category. Well struck on nice broad flan. Choice EF. Original find patina. Extremely rare.
