SAFFARID, Ya'qub ibn Layth, AH 247-265 (AD 861-879). AR Drachm (3.17 gm; 25 mm). Obverse, Shahadah followed by name Ya'qub, mint "FARS" (Persis), year 259. Reverse, Shahadah for Prophet Mohamad, followed by Abbasid's Khalif's name "al-Mustakfi". Choice EF. Lightly toned with some luster. Rare.
