BRAZIL, King João VI (John VI) of Portugal, Brazil, and the Algarves. 1818-1822. AE 80 Reis Copper (31.01 gm; 37 mm). dated 1822. The obverse features a crown above the denomination "LXXX" (80) and the date "1822", while the reverse depicts the Portuguese shield superimposed on an armillary sphere. The Latin inscription "PECUNIA TOTUM CIRCUMIT ORBEM" translates roughly to "Money circulates around the whole world". KM 342.2. Unusually heavy. Reddish patina. Choice EF. Rare.
