FRANCE, Republic. 1795-1800. 1 Décime (18.88 gm; 31 mm). French Directory period (Directoire), dated 1798/1799. designed by the engraver Augustin Dupré. The obverse features a profile of the head of Liberty facing left, while the reverse displays the face value "UN DÉCIME" enclosed within an oak wreath. Historical Context: These coins were issued during the French Revolutionary calendar era (e.g., An 7 corresponds to 1798/1799) as part of the decimal monetary system introduced at the time.
