ROMAN EMPIRE. Philip I. (AD 244-249). AR Antoninianus (3.38 gm; 23 mm). Rome, AD 248. IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I right, seen from behind / AETERNITAS AVGG, elephant adorned with saddle cloth walking left, guided by mahout, goad in right hand, wand in left. RIC IV.III 58. Well struck on a nice full broad flan. Nicely centered. Choice EF. Nice old cabinet toning.
