TABERISTAN. Said ibn Da’laj, (754-775 AD). AR hemidrachm (1.91 gm; 22 mm). Obverse: Sasanian bust to the right, name Said (Saeed) in Arabic in front of the face, Pahlavi phrase “NYWK”-per Pakzadian) on the 3rd quarter and Pahlavi phrase APD on the second quarter. Reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint TPURSTAN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 129(?), The period coincides with reign of 2nd Abbasid Khalif; Al Manusr (754-775 AD). Choice AU. Lustrous. Lightly toned.
