Description
TABERISTAN. Khalid ibn Barmak, (766-772 AD). AR hemidrachm (1.99 gm; 23 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the seconf quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 116. The period coincides with reign of 2nd Abbasid Khalif; Al Manusr (754-775 AD). Choice FDC. Lustrous.
