Description
TABERISTAN, Khurshid (Khorshid); (115-142 AH). AR hemidrachm (2.01 gm; 23 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, dot to the left of the wings of crown, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 108. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Choice FDC. Some luster.
