ROMAN EMPIRE. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (18.90 gm; 30 mm). Rome mint, 5th officina, 9th emission, AD 241. Obverse: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: Apollo seated left, holding branch and resting elbow on lyre. RIC IV 302, Banti 72. Well struck on a nice broad flan. Original green and reddish patina. Choice aEF.
