ARAB-SASANIAN, Atiya ibn Al-Aswad, (circa AH 70-77/AD 689-697). AR Dirhem (4.08 gm; 31 mm). Obverse, Khosrau II type bust turning right, phrase "Bismillah vali al Amr" ( In the name of Allah the protector of authority) on the second quarter margin, mint "KRMAN - Kirman", year 75. Walker pp 111, Album 28. Extremely rare. Superb condition for the type, Atiya was Kharijite governor of Kerman province governed in that region only. Couple of light hairline scratches on the reverse field. Choice EF.
