PERSIA, Safavid to Qajar period. 16th-17th. Century. Agate Seal (1.25 gm; 20mm x 15mm). Prayer phrase written in finest Nasta'liq style calligraphy, "Yaa Abaa Abdallah", Abaa Abdallah is the title of higly venrated third Shia Imam "Hussein Ibn Ali" and grand son of Prophet Mohamad who raised the flag of revolution against the Umayyad power and was killed in the battle of Karbala on Oct 10, 680 AD. His uprising led to formation of Shia branch of Islam. Great style of Calligraphy. Excellent condition.
