Description
CORINTH, Corinth. Circa 386-307 BC. AR Stater (8.62 gm; 22 mm). Pegasos flying left with straight wings, koppa below / Head of Athena to left, wearing pearl necklace and Corinthian helmet, adorned with a laurel branch and twig on the bowl, with leather neck guard, A-P above and below neck, behind head, aegis. Calciati, Pegasi 427; HGC 4,1848; Ravel 1009. Lovely strike on a nice broad medallic flan. Couple of minor hairline scratches on obverse and reverse field, otherwise well struck. Choice Superb EF.
