PONTIC KINGDOM, Mithradates VI, 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.33 gm; 18 mm). NGC-MS. Callatis mint. Struck in the type of Lysimachus, ca. 88-86 BC. Head right of the deified Alexander the Great wearing the horn of Ammon above ear. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; mintmark on throne; beneath, trident. Cf. SNG Cop 1089; Müller 266. NGC-MS (Strike 5/5; Surface 4/5). Certificate # 6369684-013. Lovely strike and fully lustrous.
