Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur I, (AD 240-272). Æ Unit (3.71 gm; 15 mm). Eastern provinces, Sasanian bust turning right with bunched hair on the top, reverse, Shapur I style fire altar with attendants. Extremely rare as this obverse type is typically a reverse showing a Sasanian king on horseback. Nice original brown reddish patina. Choice Good VF. Extremely rare.
