SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhran) II. AD. 276-293. AR Drachm (3.96 gm; 27 mm). Jugate busts of Bahram, wearing winged crown with korymbos, and his queen, wearing kolah with boar’s head, right, vis-a-vis bust of Prince 4, wearing kolah with eagle’s head, reverse; Fire altar flanked by two attendants, the left wearing winged crown, the other wearing mural crown, both with korymbos; Fravahr symbol to left of flames, 6 pointed star (Sun) to right. SNS type VI/1 var. (attendant on right has no korymbos); Göbl type VII/2a; Saeedi 166 corr. (rev. type); Sunrise 786 var. Well struck on a nice full flan. Choice EF. Nicely toned. Extremely rare with Sun monogram.
