SASANIAN KINGS. Yazdgird I. 399-420 AD. AR Drachm (4.06 gm; 33 mm). Crowned bust of Yazdgird turning right, reverse, fire altar with attendants, crescent on either side of flame. mint "GOR" for Gorgan, SNS type Ib1/1a var. 4 (pl. 55, 67) ; Göbl type I/1; Saeedi -; Sunrise 915var. Rare abbreviation for the mint which is typically "GO". Minor die break on reverse. Lovely strike on a nice broad medallic flan. Great style. Choice FDC. Lightly toned.
