SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Philip I. AD. 244-249. BI Tetradrachm (13.22 gm; 27 mm). NGC-MS. Antioch mint. Struck AD 248. Radiate and cuirassed bust to left, slight drapery on right shoulder, gorgoneion on breastplate; Rev. Eagle standing facing, head and tail to right, with wings displayed, holding wreath in beak, ANTIOXIA/SC in two lines in exergue. McAlee 907a; Prieur 357. NGC-MS (Strike 5/5; Surface 5/5). Certificate # 5872736-094. Lovely strike on a nice full flan. Perfect example for this issue.
