BUYIDS of PERSIA, Emad al-Dawlah. 320-328 AH. AR Multiple dirhem (13.97 gm; 31 mm). Most likely issued for special occasion of Emad and Al-Qaher both coming to power at the same year. Obverse, “Lillah, Muhammad Rasoul al-Allah, Buyeh (?) Alayha va salam, Shahanshah al- moazzam, Emad al-Dawlah, va-----, Emad al-Allah. Reverse, Shahadah followed by the name of the Abbasid khalif ‘Al-Qaher-a billah”. Qaher was Khalif from 320 to 322 AH. 1st outer ring “Al-Qaher-a billah, Khalifa, year 320 (?), Tustar min al-Ahwaz mint. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Choice Good VF. Toned with some original green-reddish patina. Given the very heavy weight of this multiple, of highest rarity as all multiple drachms special issues of Buyids are. Extremely rare.
