ARAB-SASANIAN- Rebellion period, Abdallah bin al-Zubair. AR Drachm (4.04 gm; 30 mm). mint DA (Darabgird) date 66. Obverse, Sasanian bust turning right, name "Abdallah al Amir-i, Wruishnikan" (meaning Abdallah ibn Zubair, Amir al Mo'menin), phrase "Bismillah" on the second quarter and three dots flanking the six o'clock symbol; reverse, fire altar with attendants. Lovely strike on a broad flan. Choice EF. Lightly toned. Rare this nice. "Abdallah ibn Zubair rebelled against the Umayyads after the martyrdom of Imam Hossein (3rd Shia imam and grand son of Prohpet) in the battle of Karbala, He was eventually killed by Hajjaj ibn Yusuf forces. Some historical documents refer to him as niece of Ayisha, wife of Prophet Mohammad".
