ARTUQID of MARDIN, Qutb al din II, Ghazi II. 1176-1184 AD. Æ Dirhem (10.39 gm; 29 mm). Without mint and date. Diademed Roman style head to right within beaded square, his eyes raised to heaven; around beaded square; 'ibn Alpi ibn Tirmurtash ibn il-Ghazi ibn Artuq' in Kufic. Rev. 'il-Ghazi / li-Mawlana al-Malik al'Alim / al-adil Qutb al-Din / Malik al-Umara Shah / Diyarbakr' in five lines in Kufic. Spengler & Sayles 31.1. Fully centered. Nice brown patina. Choice Superb EF.
