SASANIAN KINGS. Kavad I, first reign, (488-531 AD). AR Drachm (4.09 gm; 29 mm). Kavad's bust turning right, name written counterclockwise in front of face. reverse, fire altar with attendants in prayer mode, mint GO or GW (Gorgan or Qum), name written clockwise on the left. Well struck with a rare 5 pointed star on the obverse and reverse. Lovely style. Sharply struck on a nice broad flan. Choice FDC. Lustrous. Lightly toned. Rare.
