TABERISTAN. Khurshid (Khorshid), (115-142 AH). AR Hemidrachm (2.04 gm; 25 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 108. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Mansur. Malek 73; Cf. Album 55. Choice FDC. Fully lustrous. Lightly toned.
