Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II, 309-379 AD. AR Drachm (4.23 gm; 23 mm). Obv. Shapur's bust turning right, triple dots on the cloth and crown's globe, reverse, fire altar with attendants, phrase "Raasti" (Truth) clearly on the fire altar base, phrase Nura-zi Shahpur (Fire of Shapur) on either sides of attendants, but the name Shapur is divided at the very base of the fire altar at the bottom. Extremely rare, no mint or date, excellent style. Choice aEF. Toned.
