SASANIAN KINGS. Valkash. 484-488 AD. AR Obol (0.43 gm; 12 mm). LD(?) mint. Struck circa AD 485-488. Bust right, wearing mural crown with korymbos set on crescent, ribbon on left shoulder, flames on right; YH to right / Fire altar with ribbons and head of Balash right on shaft; flanked by two attendants; star and crescent flanking flames; no legend on left, Y; on right. SNS type Ib/1b (pl. 104, N1); Göbl type I/1; Paruck -; Saeedi -; Sunrise 956. Well struck on a nice full flan. Choice EF. Toned. Extremely rare.
