Description
KINGS of PARTHIA, Phraates IV, 38/7-2 BC. BI Tetradrachm (Perhaps Fourree) (10.24 gm; 29 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dated 288 SE (24 BC). Diademed bust left, wart on forehead / Phraates seated right, receiving wreath from Athena standing left, holding scepter; pellet below throne, (year) and (month) in exergue. Sellwood 52.5 var. (no pellet); Shore 274; Callataÿ 337; Sunrise 391. Minor graffiti with a hint of copper deposits. Choice aEF. Toned.
