Description
KINGS of PARTHIA. Phraatakes. 2 BC.- 4 AD. AR tetradrachm (14.32 gm; 27 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dated 311 SE (1 BC). Diademed bust left, wart on forehead; Nikai flanking, crowning Phraatakes with wreathes / Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow; (year) to inner right. Sellwood 57.7; Shore 315; Sunrise 401. Minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise well struck. Choice EF. Lightly toned. Scarce.
