Description
ARAB-SASANIAN. Sakastan series 780s AD. AR Drachm (2.75 gm; 32 mm). Obverse, degenerated Sasanian bust turning right, name Khosrau in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase on the first quarter name Qadamah followed by phrase "Bismillah" on the second quarter, phrase "Rabi" on the third quarter, reverse, fire altar with attendants, mint "SK" (Sakastan) on the right, year degenrated. These series are mostly associated with Eastern Sakastan and end of usage of Sasanian style design on drachms. Light porosity. Choice VF. Toned.
