ABBASID, al-Muqtadir (295–320 AH/908–932 AD), AR Dirhem (3.25 gm; 29 mm). mint, Wasit, year 299 (rare year), obverse, Shahadah followed by name of Khalif's successor, Abu-al-Abbas ibn Amir Almo'menin (Abu-Abbas son of commander of faithful), reverse, shahadah for Prophet Mohamad followed by name of Khalif-Al-Muqtadar billah. Muqtadar's reign was a classic case of rebellion, all over the Islamic empire starting with Ziyarids of Tabaristan taking the South Caspian sea region to Saffarids taking the southern Persia. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Choice AU. Toned.
