SAFFARID, "Amr ibn Lath", (870-892 AD, 256-279 AH), Donative AR dirhem (2.78 gm; 26 mm). with the name of Abbasid Khalif Al-Mu'tamid , obverse, Lillah followd by Shahadah for Prophet Mohamad, followed by Khalif's name, followed by Saffarid ruler's name, Sasanian style crescent and star decorative motif as wells triple dots around the outer rim, reverse, shahadah, followed by Khalif's name as Amir al-Mo'menin, Sasanian decorative motif of crescent and star on 4 cardinals as well as phrase "Mu'tamid" on the first quarter, and "Amr" on the 4th quarter, phrases in 2nd and third quarter not legible.
