SASANIAN KINGS. Yazdgird II, AD 438-457. Æ (1.22 gm; 13 mm). Yazdgird's bust turning right, a symbol similar to Globus cruciger (A medieval Christian symbol which is a globe topped by a cross) but flower Iris in place of cross on top of globe and with crescent below in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants. "Yazdgird II, given his military engagement in Perso-Armenia region with Christian Byzantines, forced the closure and conversion of many Christian churches and monestaries. Eventually the persecution order was lifted and Christian were left free to practice". Choice Good VF. Nice original find patina. Extremely Rare.
