Description
PERSIA; Safavid to Qajar period; Ca. 17-18th. Century. Positive Red Agate Pendent/Ring Seal (5.76 gm; 24mm x 19mm x 8mm). Religious phrase known in Persia as “Salawaat”: Allah-um-a salleh ala Mohamad va al-e Mohamad meaning “ God bless Mohamad and his family”. Family is referring to Shia Imams that per Shia doctrine succeeded Prophet, starting with Imam Ali onward. Superb Nasata’liq style calligraphy and art work. Excellent condition.
